Tiling in Jerusalem: kitchens, bathrooms, floors

Splashbacks, bathrooms, floors, decorative tiles. Good tiling shows in its grout lines: thin, even, perfectly aligned. And it can run straight into painting the room, by the same tradesman.

Where he tiles

  • Kitchen

Splashbacks and the wall behind the worktop.

  • Bathroom

    Wall tiles and floor.

  • Floors

Large-format or classic tiles, room by room.

  • Decorative

    Patterned tiles, borders, special layouts.

What makes tiling well laid

A flat, sound surface, a thought-out setting-out plan — where the cuts fall, where the first row starts — then even grout lines. The setting-out is what avoids thin slivers of cut tile against a wall or in the middle of a splashback.

The grout matters too: its colour completely changes the look of white tiles, from graphic to almost invisible.

Tiles already bought, or still to choose?

Both work. If you've already bought the tiles, allow extra for cuts and breakage: the quote will state how much to have on site. If they're still to choose, the questionnaire lets you ask for advice.

  • Give the approximate area, even a rough guess.
  • Say which room: kitchen, bathroom, floor.
  • Attach photos in WhatsApp if you can.

Tiling and painting in the same room

Redoing a kitchen or bathroom often means redoing the walls around it. When the same tradesman does both, the order is right — tiling first, painting after — and the joins between tiles and painted wall are clean. If the walls are damaged, start with the plaster and repairs page.

Frequently asked questions

Do you lay decorative tiles?

Yes: patterned tiles, borders and special layouts are part of the work. Mention it in the questionnaire so the visit takes it into account.

Should I buy the tiles before the visit?

No. You can already have them, or ask for advice. If you buy them, allow extra for cuts: the exact quantity is given in the quote.

How long does a kitchen splashback take?

It depends on the area, the tile size and the state of the wall. The time is set in the quote, after the visit.

Can tiling and painting be done together?

Yes, and it's often simpler: the tiles go in first, then the paint finishes the walls around them.
